Carer’s Tickets & The Nimbus Access Card

At Rainbow H.E. Events we want to be as accessible as possible. To make things fair and consistent for everyone, we’ve partnered with Nimbus Disability and their Access Card scheme.

The Access Card is a way to show your access needs quickly and easily. It’s recognised by many venues across the UK.

We will be using it to validate requests for a carer’s ticket. 

IMPORTANT

To be eligible for a carer’s ticket the Access Card or Digital Access Pass must have the +1 icon on it as shown in the image above. This is the icon Nimbus use to signify someone needs additional help from another person to access an event.

Why we use the Access Card

  • It gives us one clear and consistent way to verify who qualifies for a Carer’s Ticket.
  • It avoids asking people to share personal documents with us directly.
  • It’s simple to use at the event. Just provide your ID number.

If you don’t have an Access Card, our partners at Nimbus can undertake a FREE application for you to obtain a Rainbow HE Events Digital Access Pass (DAP) so you can book an Essential Companion ticket for your visit.

Important: The Nimbus Access Card/Digital Access Pass with the +1 icon is the only evidence we will accept for issuing Carer’s Tickets at Rainbow H.E. Events.

How it works

    1. Go to the Rainbow HE application form to apply online. You’ll be asked for some basic information about your access needs. If you have an Access Card already, skip to step 4.
    2. Choose whether you want the free Digital Access Pass (for our event only) or the paid card usable at many other venues (see the Nimbus website for more information.
    3. Nimbus will review it and confirm your application.
    4. Email your ID number to info@rainbowhe.events, we use the Nimbus portal to check you qualify for +1. Once eligibility is confirmed we will email you a code to book your free carer ticket.

Do I have to pay for a card?

No. If you only want the card for our event, there’s a free option. Just make sure you’re applying via the Rainbow HE Events link: app.accesscard.online/apply/rainbow-he-events-ltd

Nimbus offers a paid card (£15 for 3 years) that includes a physical card and works at hundreds of other venues, festivals and attractions. This is great value if you go to lots of events.

But if you just need the ID Number for Rainbow H.E. Events, you can choose the free Digital Access Pass instead. Both free and paid cards work exactly the same for getting your Carer’s Ticket with us.

Key things to know

  • You do not need to pay if you only want the ID number for our event.
  • If you already have a paid Nimbus Access Card, you can use it for our event too.
  • Carer’s Tickets will only be available to people who hold anAccess Card or Digital Access Pass showing they qualify for +1.
  • You do not need to book your carers ticket at the same time as you book your own paid ticket. We guarantee that those qualifying will be able to book a free carer ticket until four weeks before the event, even if the event is otherwise fully booked.
  • You can’t use your Access Card/Digital Access Pass number directly at checkout. Please email this to info@rainbowhe.events so we can confirm it and provide you with a code to book your carer ticket.
